Thesethings are playability, class and hip factor, and price/resale value. Regardlessif you are thinking about getting(Hippo, Adams, Callaway, Mizuno, Cleveland, Nike, Cobra, Titleist, Taylormade, secondary brand names or clones) you need to keep these factors in mind. Regardless what type of club you arelooking to buy(drivers, putters, wedges, woods, hybrids and irons) the same thing is true. This article focuses on class and hip factor.

Now class and hip factor are important things to consider when buying golf clubs. For a lot of golfers, they are as important as how good they can hit their golf club. Why? Well golf is a classy and hip sport!

First, you need to have disposable cash. Accordingly, the very fact that you are playing golf is aeconomic class statement. So for many, ifthey are going to play golf, theyare going tohave classy clubs.

Second, look at therides in the lots of golf courses. You will see more top notch rides the more classy the course. At private or semi-private country clubs this is definitely the case. Just like carss are aclass statement, so too are golf clubs.

Finally, when it comes to class, you will almost never play a round of golf with strangers without begin asked where you work and where you live (class, class). No wonder you can hardly play a round without hearinga golfer boastabout the new clubshe just purchased.

What aboutthe hipfactor you ask? Well, how else do you explain why so many buy John Daly cloths and clubs? Even though his game is not what it used to be, he is a hip down to earth type of guy in many peoples eyes.

If these factors don't matter to you, then that is okay. You will probably be able to get better deals on your golf clubs. Just be honest with yourself upfront or you will just end up buying classy/hip clubs later.

5 Myths About Buying Used Golf Clubs Online

Buying pre-owned clubs online is an easy, safe, and inexpensive way to get high-quality golf equipment.

In the past, buying pre-owned golf equipment online could be a risky proposition. You couldn't be sure if you'd get what you paid for, if the clubs were authentic, or if you could find the right club to fit your swing.

Over the past couple of years the pre-owned golf equipment market has boomed. As the economy slowed down, many golfers were looking for a way to upgrade their clubs, while still saving some cash. Many online retailers rose to the challenge and offered unprecedented service, selection and buyer protection.

But, even with the rise of many reputable retailers selling pre-owned golf clubs online, some people still have a stigma against buying online. Here are the top 5 myths people still believe about buying pre-owned golf clubs online.

Myth #1: There's No Guarantee or Warranty When Buying Used Clubs

We set this as #1 for a reason. You can absolutely get a great guarantee or warranty for used golf clubs when buying online.

When buying new or used clubs, a guarantee is only as good as the retailer that offers it. Reputable, honest businesses will always stand behind their product no matter what it is.

If you're shopping for a used golf club, research the retailer's warranty, guarantee, and return policy. If their warranty doesn't inspire your confidence, find a retailer with a warranty that does.

Myth #2: It's Tough to Make Sure the Equipment You're Buying is Authentic

Many top brands are being "knocked off" and passed off as real, but experienced retailers can tell at a glance if a used golf club is authentic and would never buy or sell a fake merchandise.

When buying a used golf club, take a minute to learn about the retailer. Reputable retailers can not only tell the difference between an authentic club and a knock-off, but will guarantee the authenticity of the clubs you buy.

Myth #3: It's Hard to Find High-Quality Used Clubs

Retailers of high-quality used golf clubs are well-trained in the cleaning, polishing, refinishing, and refurbishing of used clubs. Used clubs can be refurbished to "like new" quality, but since the club is still technically used, customers can realize incredible savings on a club that is in excellent condition.

Myth #4: Finding Clubs Well-Suited for Your Game and Swing is Difficult

It's true that the "fit" your local PGA Golf Professional can offer is difficult to replicate online. But, after talking with experts and finding the right shaft length, flex, and grip that's perfect for your game, most well-stocked online stores make it easy to find a club that fit perfectly for you.

If you're not seeing what you need, email or call the retailer to get help finding the exact club that fits your swing. Their customer service teams can often provide great insight into the different products they sell.

Myth #5: My Old, Used Clubs Will go to Waste When I Buy New Clubs

Many used golf club retailers offer trade-in programs for used clubs. Most online retailers will offer either cash or store credit for clubs. Some offer both options. In general, online retailers offer more money back in store credit as opposed to cash, so if you have old clubs, and are eyeing newer ones, find a retailer that offers you a good deal on your trade-in and take full advantage of it.

A Guide to Buying Junior Golf Clubs

Junior golf equipment has come a long way in recent years. Gone are the days when young golfers had to use adult clubs that had been cut down to size.

It's fine to get a very young child started with a cut down 7-iron and putter, but as kids get older, they need a set of golf clubs that are made with their bodies in mind. Today there is a good selection of manufacturers making clubs specifically for juniors.

But with all the different types of clubs to choose from, there are a few things to remember when buying junior clubs (callaway x-24 irons).

Length
Length is the first consideration. The trick is to find a set of clubs that is the right length for the junior golfer, but also a set that the junior can grow with. Remember that it is OK for the junior to choke down or grip down on the club. You just don't want them to move their hands down the grip too much.

The basic rule is this: if the junior is choking down more than 1 to 2 inches, he or she is choking down too much. Choking down more than two inches can change their whole swing, requiring them to manipulate the swing to get the club around their body. A set of clubs whose length requires the junior to grip down only one inch allows them to make a normal swing at the ball, while probably have enough length to get a second year out of the set.

Shaft Flex
The next consideration is shaft flex. The main problem with cut-down clubs for juniors is the stiffness of the shafts. When you take 4-5 inches of length off a golf club, you make the shaft extremely stiff. And this explains why juniors using cut-down clubs are unable to get any height on their shots.

One good thing with new sets is that the manufacturers are now making shafts that are the right flex for kids' swing speeds. Using light-weight steel and graphite have made junior golf clubs more playable. The shafts of junior clubs today are so flexible that you can bend them with your hands. So check to make sure that your child's set of clubs has a nice, flexible shaft.

Weight
The weight of the golf club is also very important to junior golfers. If the club is overly heavy, the child will struggle to take the club to the top of the backswing. The struggle to get the club back causes a manipulation of the swing that results in inconsistency. A lighter club will help the junior get the club in the correct position at the top of the swing, and lead to an easily repeatable swing.

Just like with shaft flex, most club companies make junior clubs with lighter heads and shafts. So before you buy, just make sure to check the overall weight of the clubs. You want clubs that are light enough to fit your child's age.

Grip Size
The last consideration is grip size. Paying attention to grip size for young golfers is a new thought in the last few years. In the past, clubs were cut down and any grip that fit the shaft was put on. But oversized grips cause the same problems for juniors as they do for adult golfers. If the grip feels like a baseball bat, it's going to change the swing mechanics.

So when buying a set of junior clubs, make sure they are fitted with junior grips. If you're changing grips, ask for junior grips with a core size of .50. These thinner grips will make a difference in your child's game.

As adults, we realize how tough golf can be some days and how much the right equipment can help our games. By keeping these considerations in mind when buying junior golf clubs, you can help your junior play better golf, and more importantly, have a better time on the golf course.

Learn About Buying Golf Clubs For Kids

By: Michelle Bery

About the Author

For easy to understand, in depth information about golf visit our ezGuide 2 Golf.

(ArticlesBase SC #146979)

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ - Learn About Buying Golf Clubs For Kids

So you think your child is the next Tiger Woods or Michelle Wie? Or maybe you simply wish to share the game of golf with your child? Either way, getting kids started in golf can be confusing even for the seasoned golfer, especially when it comes time for buying clubs for kids.

Buying golf clubs for kids is not what it used to be. Gone are the days of buying an adult set and simply cutting down the length. Adult clubs have heavy shafts and heads that will make it even harder for your child to enjoy the game. Any good set of golf clubs for kids will have lightweight heads, light and flexible shafts, and smaller grips, all of which will help your child make better contact and get the ball airborne more easily.

Before buying golf clubs for kids that come in an entire set, it is advisable to see if your child is truly interested in pursuing the game. Golf can be a difficult and frustrating game. It is widely held in the golf industry that for every adult taking up the game, there is another who quits in frustration. A good way to judge your child's interest before buying golf clubs for kids is to start with one or two clubs. Unlike adult clubs, buying golf clubs for kids means you can frequently buy them individually as well as in sets. For a small investment you can purchase a single iron club (like a seven iron), and a putter, and then head off to the local practice green or pitch-and-putt course.

Once you feel confident that your child is interested and committed to learning golf, then it is time to consider buying golf clubs for kids that come in a full set. However, unlike a typical set of fourteen clubs found in the golf bags of most adults, buying golf clubs for kids in a set does not need to be so extensive. Depending on the age and strength of your child, the ideal set of golf clubs for kids could be as small as three clubs. (A high lofted fairway wood, seven iron, and a putter are ideal for a young child). As your child continues to grow in size and strength, they will need to add additional clubs to their ideal set of golf clubs for kids.

Remember, as your child grows they will grow out of their clubs just as they grow out of their clothes. Buying golf clubs for kids that are a properly fitted set is imperative if you want your child to have the proper equipment, so be prepared for buying new golf clubs for kids every one to two years.

Whether buying golf clubs for kids that are individual or one of the complete sets of golf clubs for kids that come with a golf bag, the important thing is to share the game you love with your child by providing them with equipment that will help them get the most from their experience.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ - Buying Discount Golf Clubs

Discount golf clubs are certainly a temptation for many golfers since the price of a complete new name brand set can be in the ,500 or higher range these days. This article will discuss various ways of procuring discount golf clubs, and the pros and cons of doing so.

Know Yourself- Get Fitted Properly

Before laying down a chunk of cash on golf clubs, it is imperative that you know what clubs to look for. I suggest a club fitting be a certified professional club maker. That is an investment every serious golfer should make, but less than 10% actually do this. And by the way, trying out a couple of different clubs at a Demo-Day does not constitute a proper club fitting. If you purchase discount golf clubs and think you have saved a bundle, what good is it if the clubs are wrong for you? Thus, if you are looking for a discounted driver, for example, you should know exactly what kind of clubhead, loft angle, shaft, club length and grip are right for you. If you know all of this, then and only then does it behoove you to purchase any clubs, be they new, used, or discount golf clubs.

Ebay Auctions

I have heard that Ebay is the largest seller of used cars in the U.S. right now. I don't know if that is a fact for certain, but they sell a lot of golf clubs as well. A search today for "golf clubs" yielded over 15,000 active auctions. So you have a lot to choose from on Ebay. You must know exactly what you are looking for, as discussed above. If you find just the right club or clubs, be sure to check out the rating of the seller. If the seller has good ratings from past auctions, it is probably safe to assume he or she is honest and you can send them money without much worry. If there is any doubt, forget it. You must be as confident as possible that the seller is honest. Of course this goes for any Ebay auction, not just for discount golf clubs. For your convenience, some Ebay auctions are listed on this web page and several others on this site. If you click an Ebay ad on our site and then make a purchase, we do make a small commission (full disclosure). This helps offset some of the costs to run the site and doesn't affect your purchase price in any way.

Golfsmith

I've always liked Golfsmith and have built a good number of clubs using components purchased from them. They have an excellent web site with tons of information. You can certainly save money buying components from Golfsmith and building the clubs, if you are up for that. Golfsmith has a lot of good instructional information as well regarding club building. If you have had a proper club fitting and know what to purchase, this is a good option. It's really not that difficult. Golfsmith also has a trade-in service, and you can get a discount on a new set of clubs by trading in your old ones. This also means they have lots of pre-owned clubs for sale. Check out the pre-owned section of their site, and you can find some pretty good deals. You can pinpoint what you want by using the search box on the site. You have two levels of protection here, the established integrity of Golfsmith and the brand of the clubs your are buying.

Discount Golf Clubs at Pro Shops

I recently was in a local pro shop and they had a new Cleveland hybrid for sale for half price. The reason it was half price was because it was last year's model. Golf pro shops have outdated equipment on sale all the time because they want to get rid of old inventory. The company, Cleveland Golf in this case, surely made a few tweaks to the clubs from one year to the next, but there probably isn't anything close to revolutionary (unless you believe the marketing pitch), and last year's model will work just fine. But, as always, that's only the case if the clubs fit you.

Discount Web Sites

Watch out here. Many discount clone or knockoff clubs look good, but if you don't know better they were probably made in a low quality factory in China using inferior materials and workmanship. Unless you can be certain the clubs were made in a factory with high quality materials and manufacturing processes, it's best to pass on the deal. What we are looking for here are discount golf clubs, not garbage golf clubs.

And remember, get yourself a serious club fitting by a certified clubmaker. You'll get more out of your game whether you are buying the most expensive set of brand name clubs or a set of discount golf clubs. He can also probably get you into an excellent set of custom made clubs along with the fitting for about the price of just buying a brand name set without any club fitting. I also recommend reading Tom Wishon's excellent book "The Search for the Perfect Golf Club".

Purchasing Discount Golf Clubs

If you're looking to purchase discount golf clubs you are able to do it in different ways. The first process would be to purchase a golf club made by a known trade name brand, when the store is having a sale. The second would to purchase a clone (or copy brand) from one of the brand name golf clubs. Before you make up your mind on either choice, you should learn more about the differences in the two choices.

Be care about discount golf clubs

Every person is happy when they hear the word discount. Discount means that the object they are buying is not going to cost full price, so they in turn get a price that saves them money. Discount golf clubs can be very important to a golfer. Some golf club sets can cost a few hundred dollars, and with the right discount in place a person can save a great deal of money.
