Golf Instruction Tip – Practice Your Short Game First

It's Thursday night league and you are running late as always. You rush to the course and only have a few minutes to warm up. If your like most guys you grab your driver and practice hitting a few tee shots thinking that's the best thing to do to set up your first hole. Well here is a golden golf instruction tip for you, spend 10 minutes working on your short game and you will notice a huge difference in your scores in the first couple of holes of the round.

Studies show that your scores are highest in the first and last 4 holes of the round. The main reason for this is on the first few holes you are not prepared to scramble around the green. You show up late and don't have time to get your mind in the best frame of mind before you hit that first tee shot and more times than not you miss the fairway. Buy practicing your chipping and putting before you tee off you are in a better position to save a shot or two on the green.

Here a couple of drills that can be done in only 10 minutes:

1.Hit 3-5 pitch shots with your highest lofted club or what ever club you feel the most confident pitching with. Pitch over a sand bunker or something else that would give you a feel for pitching over trouble onto the green.
2.Hit a couple of bump and run shots with your 7 or 8 iron (again which ever one you feel more comfortable with) from just off the green but a ways from the hole to get a sense of distance.
3.Practice hitting 4 five foot puts and 4 three foot puts and then hit a couple in from a foot away. This will give you confidence on the green and give you a sense of the ball speed. The sort ones are the one that seem to cost us strokes.

If you watch the pros on TV you will see they use the same practice routine every time. I know most of us don't have the time to practice before our round like they do, but it's important to have a pre-round routine. If you follow this golf instruction tip before every round you will start to see a huge improvement in the first couple of holes each round

Golf Lesson Tips-Will They Improve Your Game?

The question often asked is do golf lesson tips really work?.Well the answer is not always easy.A lot will depend on you as an individual and how committed you are to improving and taking your game to a new level.Presuming that is the case then yes! golf tips will work.

One good tip i will give you is in your approach shot, please read below-

Always aim for the middle of the green(forget the flag for the time being)Don't follow the crowd and go for the pin, chances are you will miss with you ruining your round.

There are a couple of golf lesson tips that you can use to see a marked improvement in your approach shot, and hopefully in your overhaul game.Unfortunately the approach shot is not easy to perfect. It is a sad fact that not many golfers spend enough time practising this aspect of their game, but if you are to really improve your confidence and performance it is vital that you do so.

look at it logically for a moment,if your off the green alignment is normally the reason not distance as some would consider. There is a strong possibility that you have your 160 yard club, 150, 140, 130, for example. When you hit that poor shot you will have one of two outcomes, the ball either goes further or shorter(self explanitory i know).Having said that though greens are normally deep enough, and provided you have chosen the correct club to leave you in the centre of the green you will still be on the putting surface

Alignment however is a completely different story. If you pull the ball, and your alignment is off, it's off by far more than 5-10 yards!.Remember you have obstacles of water, bunkers and uneven lies to contend with.So to conclude these golf lesson tips, remember PRACTICE your alignment, and keep doing so until you are comfortable...Good Luck!

3 Great Golf Fitness Tips

You have only to ask yourself how long a typical round of golf takes, to appreciate that it could be around four hours, sometimes more if the golf course is busy that day. In view of this you can understand the need to be fit enough to last the time and distance. It is just as important to be as fit on the 18th green as you are on the 1st tee. If you are not fit enough to be on your feet for four hours or more without a rest your golf will suffer and you will hit bad shots needlessly.

Why not try these 3 great golf fitness tips. They have helped me and my golf game is the better for being fitter.

1. Before teeing off try swinging two golf clubs instead of one. As you do this a few times you will notice you have to swing at a certain rhythm otherwise you won't be able to swing them at all. Give it a try and you will see what I mean.

2. To strengthen your fingers and hands I squeeze a squash ball a few times. Try to squeeze as hard as you can. This exercise is very effective and can quickly strengthen weak fingers, hands and forearms, which is just what you need fto play powerful golf shots.

3.To strengthen my legs, I walk up and down the stairs in my house, until my legs start to ache. This is a simple and effective way to strengthen the legs, and it doesn't take long either. When you have done this exercise a few times your legs will feel like jelly.

Fitness is really important if you are to play good golf shots, and so it needs to be taken seriously. By using these few exercises I am confident anyone can improve their golf game and feel better as well.

Important Golf Swing Tips

Any golfer will try to follow a few simple golf swing tips in order to have that much-desired perfect swing. The firs consideration should be the grip. If you want to hit the ball straight, you must have a firm grip on the golf club. In order to have a firm grip, one should maintain the perfect stance. Weight of the body should be equally balanced. It is better not to be tensed, as the tension will generate within the club and as a result, there can be some fatal mistakes. The player should bend slightly on the hips, and there should be a little flex in the knees.

While hitting the ball, the spine should be erect. Right-handed players who want to have that perfect backswing will have to maintain a straight position of the left arm and move the body in the back as far as it is allowed. The tempo will be determined by the personality of the player. For some player it is difficult to move the body quickly as they have a slower tempo. If the player follows the golf swing tips, they can perfect the downswing too.

In order to have that perfect downswing, the head should be kept in the same position. The downswing begins from the hips and the head should be kept behind the ball till you have completed your follow through. It is better to use the right hand to generate power. The power will be generated from the angle which is formed between the wrists and the club. In order to have maximum power, the angle between the wrists and the clubs should be kept firm. In order have a perfect follow through; the club should hit the ball hard. Your head will always remain behind the ball. Although head of the player will come till the right shoulder, the chin should never cross the right shoulder. As a result the head will face the target for completion of the follow through.

Golf Instruction Tip – 2 Tips To Hitting Better Approach Shots

If you spend most of your round scrambling from off the green, you need to work on your approach shots. These are shots coming in from 80 to 150 yards away. If you can get it on the green instead of landing in the bunker or rough it will save several strokes a round. Here is 2 golf instruction tips to help you land on the green more often.

Golf Instruction Tip #1- First thing is to aim for the middle of the green. When I am struggling getting on the green more often than not it's because I am aiming for the flag. This alone will having you hitting more greens on a consistent basis. More than likely if you aim for the pin you will end up over the green because you are not putting enough back spin on the ball.

Golf Instruction Tip #2 - Second, check your alignment. If you are aiming for the middle of the green and you are still missing it, more often than not your alignment is off. Practice your alignment!

Generally, when you are off the green it is due to alignment, not distance. Most golfers have a 160 yard club, 150, 140, 130 or whatever, so most of the time alignment is the problem.
If your alignment is correct and you are aiming for the middle of the green even if you hit a poor shot, the ball may go a little deeper or come up short. But even if when happens, most greens are big enough that you should be on the putting surface. Practice these two things the next couple of rounds and you will see the difference on your score card.

Want to Know the Best Golf Putting Tip?

Learning to putt correctly can be of a great advantage for those who new to the sport and those who golf on a regular basis. Putting should be practiced consistently in order to perfect the technique eventually. If you read and practice each golf putting tip listed below, the tips might go a long way in improving your putting skills:

The line of your vision should be in a perfectly straight line above the ball so that you can make an accurate estimate of the direction in which you want your ball to travel, and the actual direction in which it will go once you have putted it. Therefore, having your eyes directly above the ball helps in eliminating any guesses regarding the path traveled by the ball.

You should also pay close attention to the placement of your ball in order to get a perfect vision of the ball, your hands and the target you want it to reach. For this you should place the ball a little ahead of your chest to get the perfect angle of the vision.

How you hold the putt and the grip of your hand says a lot about correct putting. The end of the putter that leads should be parallel placed from the putting surface at that time of the stroke. You can discern this line by being directly over the putter to make sure that there is a split line that runs through the top end and the sole plate of the putter. Once this has been adjusted you can be sure of hitting a pure topspin.

A golf putting tip that most golfers fail to follow while putting is breaking the line of the wrist while playing a stroke. Using the wrist as a lever for the putting never works. In fact it hinders the distance that the ball is supposed to travel.

In order to control the distance and the direction of the ball one needs to use the shoulders as a pivot. The swing and the angle of the shoulders will determine the distance and direction of the ball once it is hit. Therefore, breaking the wrist is not a good putting technique.

Controlling the shoulder is hard enough; once you have the added movement of the wrist, you have to adjust the effects of two joints for the stroke, which is more difficult than working with one of them.

Keeping the eye directly over the ball is another important golf putting tip. Many golfers fail to perfect this technique while putting. You can practice this technique by placing the ball on the putt and then standing with your head in such an angle that if a ball was allowed to roll off the bridge of your nose, it would fall clean on the actual spot where the ball should be. This is the ideal angle at which you should be standing while putting.

If you keep these pointers and mind and practice putting using these techniques then you will be able to improve your putting in no time at all.

Free Golf Swing Tip-How To Correct a Golf Slice

The one free golf swing tip that I would recommend to correct a golf slice is to..

Give yourself a good grip. By this I mean a grip that is at least neutral and even bordering on strong. To do this turn both of your hands slightly to the right on the golf club grip so that the vees formed by the thumb and forefinger of both hands are pointing at or to the right of your right shoulder.

Okay, now you are going to start this exercise with small swings, that is, only take the club back to hip height.
And in doing this, and this is crucial, you need to maintain the angle at the back of your left wrist just as it was at address. This angle will be slightly concave and you need to maintain that angle with this short swing back to just hip height.

Then turn through and hit the ball solidly. You will not slice the ball, in fact you will draw the ball or hit it straight.

What this tip helps you prevent is a problem for many amateur golfers who slice and it is this..the roll their wrists in the takeaway and backswing which opens up the face of the club to the plane of the swing and coming back into impact the clubface is still open, hence the slice.

Once you practice this tip and work at it diligently you will be anxious to incorporate it into your full swing and you simply complete your backswing with your arms swinging up, not around, and your shoulders turning.

The shoulders turning take care of the around part of the swing, the arms take care of the up part.

But please, please maintain that angle at the back of your wrists which is the whole point of this free golf swing tip to help you to correct a golf slice.
